Happy New Year!
We would like to wish all of our 2011 customers a very happy New Year, and look forward to seeing you again in 2012. 2011 was a very busy year for us, with the Christmas period fully booked by early October (we could have filled a cattery twice the size), and bookings for 2012 are already growing steadily. If you want to be sure of booking a room for your cat(s) when you go on holiday this year, please book early.
Thinking of paying by Cheque?
Due to the withdrawal of the cheque guarantee card and the cost of bank charges, we regret that we can no longer accept cheques for under £50.

Because we are now so busy, we are sorry but we are no longer able to offer collection and delivery as a standard service.

Luxury Cattery in East Devon

Situated only a 1/2 mile from the A30 at Patteson's Cross, the Fairmile Cat Hotel is 1 mile north of Ottery St. Mary, 5 miles west of Honiton and only 12 miles east of Exeter. So if you are looking for a cattery in Sidmouth or a cattery in Budleigh Salterton, we could be just what you would like to give your cat a great holiday. Some of our customers recognise the quality of care we provide and came to us in preference, say, to a cattery in Lyme Regis or a cattery in Axminster. Our catchment area also includes Seaton, Chard, Ilminster, Talaton, Feniton, Bluehayes, Whimple, Farringdon, Woodbury Salterton, Cowley, Pinhoe, Whipton, Broadclyst, Sowton, Heavitree, Brampford Speke, Offwell, Alfington and Cullompton.
Special cats
All cats are special but some are more special than others
Joking apart, some cats have special requirements for care. The elderly cat needs a higher temperature to be comfortable, the arthritic cat needs gentle exercise but with no leaping up and down and to be safe from falling, the diabetic cat needs daily injections ... and the list goes on.
Whether your cat is disabled in some way - perhaps a limb missing, or blind, or deaf - we can adapt our routine and accommodation to help. Use of sounds and smells, a set place for everything, small chairs to aid access to shelves, adjusted temperature in the sleeping quarters - any or all of these can make the difference to your cat being confident and happy and enjoying their time with us.
Some cats do have behavioural problems and we do our very best to understand how to calm your cat and will do what we can to observe and "mediate" to reduce the stress at least during their stay with us. Stress is most common in multi-cat households and often just an extra litter tray can make all the difference to a cat suffering stress!
One of the ways we help your cat to settle in, especially if they are prone to stress, is the careful use of Feliway which is a synthetic copy of the feline facial pheromone, used by cats to mark their territory as safe and secure. By mimicking the cat’s natural facial pheromones, Feliway creates a feeling of familiarity and security for the cat, especially in new and unfamiliar environments.
We also understand a cat’s need to hide when stressed or faced with new surroundings and will provide a safe place for them to "hide" until they feel secure enough to emerge and join in. We do not place any pressure on our guests and work just by encouraging and providing a predictable routine which they can rely on and feel comfortable with.
Pampered Cats
It is their holiday too so why not pamper them just that little bit more!
Cats love their food and what better way to spoil them than to give them the very best food available. We offer a super premium dry food as standard but upgrade to our Gourmet Menu and your cat will enjoy tucking into the very best low carb cat food (closer to the natural diet of cats), both wet and dry, and both ethically produced foods and truly very special.
Remember that we already include daily grooming, play sessions, cuddles and medication administration in our standard prices!
