Your cat’s day

A cat’s typical day in Fairmile Cat Hotel

What’s New?
Happy New Year!

We would like to wish all of our 2011 customers a very happy New Year, and look forward to seeing you again in 2012.  2011 was a very busy year for us, with the Christmas period fully booked by early October (we could have filled a cattery twice the size), and bookings for 2012 are already growing steadily.  If you want to be sure of booking a room for your cat(s) when you go on holiday this year, please book early.

Thinking of paying by Cheque?

Due to the withdrawal of the cheque guarantee card and the cost of bank charges, we regret that we can no longer accept cheques for under £50.

Collection and Delivery

Because we are now so busy, we are sorry but we are no longer able to offer collection and delivery as a standard service.

A Typical Day in Fairmile Cat Hotel

A cat describes a typical day in Fairmile Cat Hotel, full of varied experiences

Our cat KateWell hello All!  This diary comes to you from the paws of me, Kate, to give you a little insight into life as a boarder at Fairmile Cat Hotel ...

I awakened from a quiet and restful sleep in my smart heated bedroom, with en-suite facilities just outside the cat flap.  Had a good stretch and then out to investigate the rattle of the food trolley bringing breakfast.  Sniff the air and lick my lips and then a good rub round the maid’s legs as she puts my breakfast down and leaves me to eat in peace.

A quick visit to use the "facilities" - nice smell of wood there - and then up on to my chair for a wash and brush up and a good inspect of the garden outside, having to content myself with just glaring at the cheeky birds having their breakfast and a dip in the bath.  The sun brings out the butterflies too and they are good to watch while room service deals with the dirty dishes and then comes round to do the daily clean.  I take the opportunity to scrounge a few more cuddles and a quick chat as she does my room.

Ooo - a new resident in today and I watch carefully as the "mum’s taxi" bring them to the door with their luggage and miaow a friendly welcome.  Smart luggage!

Time for 11’ses and a quick snack from the dried food bowl before strolling over to the Pet Fountainfountain in the corner to take a drink from my favourite cascade.  Beats drinking from the tap at home!  Tastes better too.  Refreshed, time for forty winks before the afternoon activities.  Need to keep my strength up for those!

A yawn and a visit to the scratcher to stretch after a lovely peaceful nap - well it would be peaceful if it wasn’t for those noisy birds!  If only I was out there ...

Ahh, now things liven up.  Here comes my maid with that lovely comb for my daily beauty treatment.  Of course I have to sit on her lap which means cuddles as well.

Oh!  A ping pong ball!  I just have to chase that - it skitters around on my tiled floor just brilliantly - and my maid plays football with me for a while before leaving me with that ball that smells of food.  In fact it is rather clever because if I move it with my paws, treats drop out which of course I just have to catch and eat.  Tired now I jump up for another rest before tea and wonder what toy I might get tomorrow - perhaps the fishing rod one - that is great fun catching the flying feathers!

Before I have realised it the noise of the food trolley again catches my attention and I wait eagerly by the door for dinner, after which I keep a close eye on the garden while I play with that dangly thing for a bit.  With that subdued I pay another visit to my en-suite and then settle to watch the birds and the insects outside while I wait for room service to collect my washing up and clean up again.

Slowly the light begins to fade outside and the small lights start to glow - this is a good time to watch for the fluttery moths and watch the bats skim about - they are so fast but I am sure I could be faster if I could only fly ...

Time for bed and I go into my nice warm room and jump into bed, snuggling down in the cosy fleece and close my eyes and ...... zzzzzzzz

I don’t even hear the service maid just come along to check all is well and do the "lights out" routine.
