Happy New Year!
We would like to wish all of our 2011 customers a very happy New Year, and look forward to seeing you again in 2012. 2011 was a very busy year for us, with the Christmas period fully booked by early October (we could have filled a cattery twice the size), and bookings for 2012 are already growing steadily. If you want to be sure of booking a room for your cat(s) when you go on holiday this year, please book early.

Due to the withdrawal of the cheque guarantee card and the cost of bank charges, we regret that we can no longer accept cheques for under £50.

Luxury Cattery in East Devon
Are you looking for a cattery in Exeter? Or perhaps a cattery in Honiton? The Fairmile Cat Hotel is a luxury boarding cattery in Ottery St. Mary in the East Devon countryside providing a superior standard of accommodation, tasty nutritious meals and high quality personal service. We would like to think that we are the best of all the local catteries in Devon. Situated only a 1/2 mile from the A30 at Patteson's Cross, the Fairmile Cat Hotel is 1 mile north of Ottery St. Mary, 5 miles west of Honiton and only 12 miles east of Exeter. So if you are looking for a cattery in Sidmouth or a cattery in Budleigh Salterton, we could be just what you would like to give your cat a great holiday. Some of our customers recognise the quality of care we provide and came to us in preference, say, to a cattery in Lyme Regis or a cattery in Axminster. Our catchment area also includes Seaton, Chard, Ilminster, Talaton, Feniton, Bluehayes, Whimple, Farringdon, Woodbury Salterton, Cowley, Pinhoe, Whipton, Broadclyst, Sowton, Heavitree, Brampford Speke, Offwell, Alfington and Cullompton.

What we provide as standard
Having spent the last 11 years running a pet food company I have learned a good deal about the industry and available choices - good and bad! Using that knowledge to give our guests good wholesome food seems to be just common sense really. Realistically though, feeding what a cat is used to will help it settle better. So we came to a compromise - with extras available!
Domestic cats are browsers when it comes to food and for this reason we will be providing our own Super-Premium complete dry cat food, produced here in the UK for us from ethically sound ingredients, which will be available all day for your cat when it wants to eat. Being dry it helps keep their teeth clean and stays fresh longer. Our dry cat food contains all named ingredients (no "animal derivatives" etc.), and no chemical preservatives or artificial colours which (like in children) can affect your cat’s mood and create anxiety.
As we are very keen to promote activity while they are relatively restricted we will be using the dry food to entice them to explore and play as well - mimicking natural cat behaviour with puzzles to explore and solve. Don’t worry though - we start them off gently with this and no cat will go hungry because of them!
In addition to the complete food we also have "room service" twice daily where a selection of wet foods will be served. We will keep in stock most of the more common wet foods (tins, pouches etc) so your cat can have what it is used to at home. Good quality treats will also be given.
If your cat is unfortunate enough to have a prescription diet then please bring that with you and we will make sure your cat’s diet follows veterinary orders!
Each unit will have a filtered water fountain for cats that are staying with us a week or more. (If your cat is only with us for a short time we can arrange one at a very small extra charge to cover the charcoal filter used.) Cats prefer running water to drink and this system encourages fluid intake which is so important for their urinary health. The water is from our own well, and UV filtered for safety, containing no added chlorine or fluoride or other chemicals.
Cats who are with us a week or more will also have a pot of cat grass, specially grown, on which to nibble should the fancy take them!

A holiday treat for your cat
For a small additional charge we will also have the best of the top of the range natural feeds, both wet and dry, and all low carbohydrate foods. Using quality natural ingredients with a very high proportion of meat (typically over 70%) for a more natural cat diet, these are the very best available.
